The Norse sage teaches that Thor braved the sea of storms in search of Jörmungandr, equipped with a dry fly called "The Ox Head". The Midgard Serpent, middle child of the giantess Angrboða and the god Loki, ate the fly during a ferocious evening rise, giving Thor some serious angling fun. Given that the world would end if Jörmungandr were to be killed, Thor tossed the great serpent back into the ocean, and in the process invented the concept of Catch & Release.
