I would have preferred to run this at MUCH higher flows, but we showed up and that was the level I had, so I decided to just, as Steve Fisher says in Halo Effect, "buck up and huck it".
It hurt, not going to lie. I wouldn't recommend running it that low. All the kayakers I talked to said that drop is a pretty big hit anyway for some reason, and I will now tell you the same.
No GoPro footage this time, the hit was jolting and the river swallowed my GoPro. It's likely somewhere in the Amazon river by now, chasing the legend of Mike Horn (aren't we all haha).
The other drop though, THAT one was soft and fluffy and if it weren't for the really brutal muddy climb out (and in) and time constraints I would have liked to run it a few more times.
Big thanks to the guys who set safety, Diego Robles for all the beta and great photos, and Keilyn for the video.
PS - yes, my outfit is now obnoxious AND looking destroyed. Credit that to 80 rapids and a lot of boof rocks on the Upper Jondachi a couple days before running these waterfalls. New look coming for 2013, but it'll still be colorful...
