i made this this video a couple nights ago, but with all this getting back into the swing of things, i hadn't found time to upload it until now. it seems so unreal that just a week ago i was still in california. that's where this video begins. i forgot how weird it was to see trees with autumn leaves still on them. there's a street that i often drive on in redlands and it's the most beautiful place in the fall and winter months. as my days in california slowly counted down, i had a couple friends over for new years eve. new years is probably my second favorite holiday right after fourth of july. jessica slept over for two nights and it was really fun because i wont' see her (or anyone else from california) for another three months. phil and alyssa stopped by which was so nice, because i hadn't seen phil in what felt years but it had actually only been months. brad also hung out which was so nice, because i already miss him! on my last night in my own bed i watched the movie "like crazy" again. i forget how much i love it in its entirety, the score, the acting, the location, just everything about it completely kills me. it's such a beautiful film. the next day it was back to seattle for me! my plane was delayed an hour so my dad took me to get coffee before he dropped me off. my suitcase ended up being six pounds overweight, and thank goodness my dad was still there, because i gave him six pairs of pants to ship to me separately. i took the light rail into downtown seattle and then the bus to campus with all of my luggage, so it was such a relief to finally reach my room and sit down at my desk and just breathe. i said hello to all of my friends and we went to dinner together. the next day henry and i went to milstead and i indulged in one of their perfectly made vanilla lattes. i said hello to everyone at work and picked up my schedule and then everything was back to normal. the rest of the days that i've been back have been filled with friends, coffee, and reading for school. my classes seem like they're going to be enjoyable so far. i'm excited to be back in seattle, we'll see how the rest of winter quarter goes!
