Once I got my hands on the GoPro Hero3 Black Edition, I knew I wanted to test out the 120fps (in 120+ seconds). And well, instead of posting some test shots, I decided to shoot with the camera as if it were part of my normal shooting workflow. That means that the camera is usually still and let the images do the moving - which might seem like a waste for such a portable camera. But hey, I didn't have a bike/car/skateboard/surfboard/etc to use to do that kind of motion. There's always next time right?
With only an hour to shoot, I decided the best place in NYC was to go to Times Square to get some good motion shots. I also made a side trip to the ice skating rink at Bryant Park.
I was amazed at the image coming out of the camera at 720p as well as 2.7k cine ("still" shots towards the end). I watched this on my TV and watched it again and again. Image is superb. Now if only the 2.7k didn't have the distortion. This camera will definitely go in my workflow!!!
