Fantasy Night & Bike Carnival
On Thursday Night, July 16th, 2009, in Yoyogi Park, Tokyo, Japan, a huge group of urban cyclists gathered and held the qualifying races for the mini-keirin, brake-less (except the girls) Fantasy Night Race.
A few days later on the Monday of a three day weekend, riders converged upon the Keio-kaku Keirinjo (velodrome) in Chofu, Tokyo for a day of keirin races, bmx and fixed-gear tricks, and the finals of the Fantasy Night race.
I had a blast and even won 20,000yen and some sweet parts from Sugino because I won the track stand comp. ("old school" people said). Riding the banks is sooo much fun so I have no video of it. Next time.
Thanks to GoGo, TKBMA, Keirin, and all the sponsors for a great weekend.
This is the same place where the keirin event will happen on Sept. 26 for CMWC 2009. It'll be awesome!!!
