Lamprey Eel Spawning in East Fork Mill Creek

Lamprey Eel Spawning in East Fork Mill Creek

Thomas B. Dunklin

Jo'el Benegar went out to survey the results of watershed restoration efforts in the East Fork of Mill Creek, and found these lamprey eels doin' their thang. She spent the next few house filming. Didn't get much surveying done that day. These are Pacific Lamprey, which spawn in freshwater, but live much of their lives in the ocean.
The music is from the Altai region of Siberia, and a Khomus is their name for a jaw harp. The song brings good spirits.
