Performed at TEMP Art Space on 1/12/13
We are ziploc bags for our insides, skin capsules for the pulsing, pumping goo, running on ego, food, social acceptance, overlooked comforts, and occasionally “soul”. Remove the pedestals of civility; the façade that is the mark of our identity, the remnant is the rudimentary core we all came from. Stripped from the animalistic truths about ourselves: the hunger for food, the hunger for social comfort, hunger for a career, hunger for love, hunger for control, etc, the person becomes a moldable piece of meat. This is a study of transformation by removal of layers resulting in complete degradation and humiliation, at the end of which is an empty purged slate, and quite possibly beauty.
