In the midst of the cultural hot-bed that is Manhattan's Lower East Side, Reed Space sits as naturally in this cool-kid environment as peigions do perch on many a neighbourhood stoop. Pioneering the concept 'lifestyle boutique', since 2003 the NYC location has seen growth overseas and closer to home - as in next door - Reed Annex that opens for special events, pop-up shops and sample sales. Carrying brands like 10Deep, Acapulgo Gold, Converse First String, Monocole, The Hundreds, and the founders own Staple Design, the best in streetwear is only a part of the shops stock. A makeshift library wall hosts hundreds of back issues of some of our favourite zines, including Reed's own quarterly, Reed Pages, a print manifest of Reed Space take on culture, design and art, delivering inspirational, informative and authentic content to a forward thinking demographic. We spoke with a Reed Space rep to get the full story of this positive social contagion.
