Creative Skills For Life aims to leverage digital technologies and media to enable young people living with cancer and other long-term life-threatening conditions to explore their creative potential as a catalyst for healing and personal development.
The All Party Parliamentary Group on Hospice and Palliative Care recently published a report which revealed that at least 49,000 people under 19 are living with life-threatening or life-restricting conditions in the UK alone. Remarkably, the number of 16 to 19 year olds living with these conditions has nearly doubled in the last decade and advances in medical science means this trend will continue, resulting in a real need for new holistic solutions that embrace emerging digital technologies.
Creative Skills For Life will combine on/off line creative workshops with a web/mobile platform serving as a safe and secure online environment and ‘Creative Lab’, where patients, friends and family can meet, co-create, share ideas, advice and support. creativeskillsforlife.com
