Beyond: Woods // Rain On
+Headphones are recommended for this video.
Filmed in one continuous shot on July 24, 2009 at the Whitney Museum of American Art. All visual effects were done in the camera, as I was shooting. The architecture inspired me to try different things, like turning the camera 45 degrees clockwise to capture a vertical image.
*Technical note: The Green Bullet microphone is legendary; it was popular in the 1950's among blues harmonica players. Here, it cracks under high frequencies, adding something special to Jeremy's great falsetto. He's also playing a sweet vintage parlor guitar, used to great effect.
Brooklyn's Woods bring their cowboy swagger to the chic facade of the upper west side, performing as a part of the "Dan Graham: Beyond" live music series.
