great work. you have a wonderful eye.
one question: did you need an adapter for your canon lenses? if so, where did you get it?
    vraiment cool. wow.

One more lovely little film from you. And mmm-music... Grace Jones!

Could you please use another Vimeo title than just "GH1" on your films? Like "Just for Dance Day" on this one - it would make finding different ones much easier :)

Great stuff Roland! I received my Ciecio adapter as well and have the 50mm lens. Which shots were with the 28mm? I'm looking towards grabbing that lens as well.

Did you use a ND filter in some first frame ?
  • Roland Cadieux plus 4 months ago
If I remember well I used one in the third and fourth shot only.

Beautiful videos! Instead of using the kit lens, which you seem to like, these and other videos were recorded using prime lenses and MF. Could you comment on the pros and cons of these approaches?
  • Roland Cadieux plus 4 months ago
    Thanks Eric!

The Kit lens is perfect for day light and autofocus... but for low light, controling Depth of field and focusing manually I love old prime lens like those Canon FD.

    Dear Roland,

I first saw videos of your daughters and thought that the joy, love a celebratatory feel was born from a father's total, 'gaga' love for his girls, but now that I see this, I sense that you have an ability to capture and convey the joy of life in all your videos. Very, very nicely done.
  • Roland Cadieux plus 4 months ago
Thanks James! that's very kind of you.

The video seems wonderful, but how is the DSLR ?

The 4/3 seems unusable for a professional.

how roland, is neoscene a necessary step? is the native file format not readily editable in premiere cs4? im interested in getting this over the 5D MkII as i thought avchd can be dropped in the premiere timeline and edit right away.
  • Roland Cadieux plus 3 months ago
You can drop native AVCHD in Premiere CS4 but you will have to render it first if you want to preview it without jerking playback in your timeline. (in my case, anyway) I don't think Premiere CS4 does a better job at removing pulldown from 1080 footages than Neo Scene does.

    Salut Roland,

    Tu peux trouver des séquences en 720p60 sur ce site;

If you have the latest updates to Premiere Pro CS4, latest graphics drivers and set the program monitor quality to highest instead of automatic, it should work. At least it works for me!
