Lamiskana was one of many villages caught up in last year's conflict between Georgia and Russia over South Ossetia.
The village is not far from Gori and locals told me it was a major thoroughfare for Russian armoured vehicles and soldiers.
Just on the outskirts of the village is a checkpoint manned by Georgian police, and beyond that, another manned by South Ossetian forces.
Even several months after the conflict had ended local people were still tense. War also affects children. In April I filmed a short feature for UNICEF about the work of the Elizabeth Gast Foundation which is holding workshops for kids outside of school hours.
I filmed this short 55 second sequence with a Canon G10. The point was to put my larger Sony Z1 down for a moment and shoot something very quickly for the web or to blog. It features the Georgian actor Bacho Chachibaia leading a drama workshop.
It was wonderful to watch kids going about the business of having fun and being kids, even in a conflict zone.
