This is a video I produced for the Columbia Missourian about a qigong workshop held at the local Veterans Affairs hospital.
Dr. Effie Chow, a Qigong Grandmaster, held a three-day workshop at Truman Veterans Hospital to help veterans learn to manage pain through the practices of traditional Chinese medicine. "Qigong" means "cultivation of life force," and through meditation, chanting and focusing on positive energy, Chow has helped thousands of people overcome pain and disabilities.
Dr. Chow, also a psychiatric nurse and certified acupuncturist, was appointed to the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy in 2000 by President Bill Clinton.
