This short experimental fashion film directed by visual artist Black Madeleine (blackmadeleine.net) is entirely shot with an iPhone on an easel and is a tribute to the original masterpiece "Thais" by italian futurist filmmaker Antonio Giulio Bragaglia shot in 1917 ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thaïs_(Italian_film) ) . Thais De Galitzy is an eccentric and ruthless aristocrat rumored to be an esoterist and a witch, who seduces rich young men just to take possession of their precious souls. She lives in a mansion that is built as a labyrinth, painted with black and white geometries. The original scenography was created for Bragaglia by italian futurist painter Enrico Prampolini. The triangles, spirals and pyramids are all allegories and mysterious symbols. The tempting "Diva" and "Femme Fatale" was a recurrent character of italian silents and early cinema.
Soundtrack: Transylvanian Folk Song, performed on cimbalom by Toni Iordache.
This short fashion film has been presented at A Shaded View on Fashion Film Festival at Aurora Fashion Week in St. Petersburg on February 2013.
