Fantastic work Dan, you've really created something awesome here. The mix of stop-motion claymation, 2D animation in the posters, and what looks like composited shadows (?) is all done very professionally. I am also really impressed by the believable emotions of each character, it was totally compelling.

absolutely A-W-E-S-O-M-E story! the long production time (and the days without any sun, I guess) was really worth it!
    thanks for uploading it here.

Thanks everyone for your comments! They mean a lot to me, so thank you.

I'm very grateful Vimeo exists. So much easier to share work when you're not mailing out VHS tapes...

And Blake, thank you for making it a staff pick! Wow!

Touching! Amazing work, congratulations. I think this should be played at United Nations or G8 meetings... perhaps we'd have a better world then.

Very Good work! It brings the sad reality to us who have not experienced such a horrible time as that. Stupid politicians.. They mess everything up.

çok güzel olmuş.. Japonlar gibi Türklerde bazı acılar çektiler geçmişte.. Ama tarihten ders almamız gerekiyor.. ve ileride dünyayı daha iyi yapmamız gerekiyor..

Incredibly powerful imagery with the innocence of characters. I've not felt this emotional about a wartime post apocalyptic animation since When the Wind Blows.

Awsome! When in the Navy, about 1968 we went to Nagasaki, I went to the museum and saw actual sections of fence with shadows on them, freaked me out standing there with a navy uniform on.

Incredibly powerful and well done. Wow. I do stop motion (mainly music videos), so I know how much time and effort goes into making them...So to make such a detailed and long 15 minute animation, well...woof. Epic for sure and completely deserving of such awards!

    Really moving.
Great concept, even for a Japanese like me. Somehow the words on the posters were a bit strange, probably straight translations from a English line, but still it stays a great piece of art.

Un trabajo muy bien desarrollado, logra hacernos emocionar y colocarnos en el lugar de quienes sufrieron el horror de la guerra, familias inocentes, niños y niñas desamparados ...
