on June 30th at the UMMA there was an screening and discussion of an Andy Warhol film called "The Velvet Underground and Nico"

this original film was a long recording of a jam session from the band "The Velvet Underground" - the discussion held afterwards in the auditirium was interesting, and questions were asked about how long and, well, monotonous the footage captured was at times - Warhol seemed to have an interest in exploring the possibilities of film, the avant-garde approach to cinema, and live cinema which was not edited out later.
