My buddy Pat and I decided upon an overnight tour into the Surprise Lakes region, an area we explored last year during a similar snow drought. We were looking for some lower angle north facing pillow lines in the trees, but high temps had snow bombed most of the tree skiing. We instead opted to find some nice proto corn on some steeper west facing terrain, which lead to one 2000' run of fall line skiing.
