thanks Claudia. yup, it is nice to have a small camera, it has really great photo quality, I wish the video would have AE lock. hopefully the company will fix this. otherwise no complaints with this little toy :)

  • From 2:06 to end, when the kids are refreshing themselves; are the best framed scenes in the clip.
The filter and lighting did the trick too!

I am learning a few new tricks here, thanks, Mike!

i love this, is this camera better than the gh1?
  • Mike Kobal plus 2 years ago
thanks Hector. no, not at all. the GH1 has the best video implementation, but the P1 is smaller, more like a real snap shot camera with a big sensor. very good photo quality and the video gimmick.

great video and mike! nice shots from that little thing! I own a 350D and planning to let go of it, its just too heavy and big. was actually interested in the PEN. would like to hear you thoughts if it will be as good as my 350D or better!

    Cheers man!
  • Mike Kobal plus 2 years ago
focus is slower, image quality is not as good but very close at iso below 800. best quality in a snapshot with full manual controls, i would go for it.

really awesome video, it brought back memories of when I was little and living in New York. I couldn't stop smiling at the first scene, when they're splashing in the fountains. :) I played there a lot when I was a little kid.

Hey Mike, just for the heck of it, and when you get time, you think you could do another shoot but this time with both cams in 1080p and saved as a higher bit rate? No pressure...lol But thanks again for what you provided.
  • Mike Kobal plus 2 years ago
Ian, it only records at 720, no options to choose the bitrate either, not a serious tool
  •
  • Erika 2 years ago

this is probably the only camera I would consider wearing around my neck in a dainty leather strap pouch for cools sakes to impress the ladies. It's soo F'ing old school, I love it. If I wasn't too serious about getting into video I'd buy 10 of them to increase my coolness by a factor of yes.....10!

total delight. So life affirming. And you always do an amazing job selecting your soundtracks! Little heavy on the vignetting, I'm just sayin'....bravo.
  • Mike Kobal plus 2 years ago
thanks Albert, the vignetting is part of the art filter, the clips are straight out of the camera, no post
