Roughly 5 months ago, I was contacted by Makeshift Society's Rena Tom to attend a debutante-ball'esque event to announce Makeshift Society into, well, society. One part creative magnet, four parts cray-mazing business talentress, Rena explained to me and roughly 70+ attendees the plans for a creative co-working space the likes of which San Francisco had never seen. It was a great pitch, and once completed, the space proved to live up to its hype.
It was obvious from the start that Makeshift Society and its inhabitants needed to be documented. So we chose a cross section of Society regulars, to help tell MSS's story.
Makeshift regulars are just as welcoming as they are well-known. In a space created solely to encourage creativity, it is still quite a curious beast to see first person just how contagious creativity can be. Come visit!
