After talking with the machinist at a local machine shop, he told me that the bearings alone for this version would cost me as much as the whole pan/tilt setup from Servocity. That sold me on buying theirs! I will certainly use the wiper motors elsewhere on my final motion control rig, as they are incredibly strong and yet still accurate. If I could just find a 12v servo encoder and motor control setup...
