Update: November 26th, 2013
A special THANK YOU to MONK FOR THE MOVIES Dean Treadway of moviegeeksunited.net/ and filmicability.com/ for helping me connect with Jennifer Dorr of "The Black Box Fire and Art Festival" facebook.com/events/197930503724495/ . The festival with be screening my short documentary film "Every Other Sunday" on both Saturday Nov. 30 and Sunday Dec. 1st. 2013. Thanks again DeanO
Every Other Sunday is a short documentary about restaurant owner Nick Caliendo and his friend Hamid Ashianti in their efforts to Marshall a diverse team of volunteers, on one particular Sunday (as he does twice a month), in order to feed upwards of 250 of Atlanta’s homeless people.
These volunteers work selflessly in order to see that at least one meal that day is provided to those who cannot help or feed themselves. Four hours of work cooking, packaging and transporting not only the meals, but scads of much needed clothing, is reduced down to 20 minutes in this fun, touching, and energetic documentary directed and produced by Rich Gedney with the help of Assistant editor Dean Treadway.
“It’s just really inspirational and I think it’s something that needs to be seen by everybody...
”Cause everybody on the show can say we have gone through some very rough times
But you watch this and realize, as the girl says in the film, there are people worse off than you.
It’s really inspiring, I highly recommend, when it’s available, that people watch this film.”
