An award winning short film written and directed by Christopher-lee dos Santos.
This student film was produced in South Africa in 2007. It played at the prestigious Cannes film festival in 2008.
The film follows a young Afrikaaner who is a proud boy entering military conscription in the then Apartheid South African Army. The war in Angola and Northern Namibia is waging on and our hero believes in sacrificing ones self for the fatherland and protecting it from any outsiders and "terrorists". His world is cast into doubt about his beliefs when he meets a young stubborn Englishman who refuses to accept the Army doctrine and way of life. This Englishman teaches our Hero about another view point on the Army, its rules and what its all about.
At the crossroads between believing the Englishman's point of view or that of the SADF, our hero has to make a hard moral decision to protect his own soul in the end.
Chris has gone on to direct two feature films since this film and is currently finishing his latest film Angel of the Skies for cinema release in 2013.
