The Autism Society of NC Promotes Autism Awareness With New Public Service Announcements
2 years ago
The Autism Society of NC, one of the state’s largest and most progressive autism education organizations for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), today announced the launch of its 2009 Autism Awareness Campaign with two public service announcements (PSAs).
Despite funding challenges faced by healthcare advocacy organizations and groups statewide, The Autism Society of North Carolina (ASNC), with support from the John Rex Endowment, continues make health care more accessible for people living with autism by providing free education programs, training seminars and educational materials about the signs and symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), the second most common developmental disability to pediatricians, medical providers and families across North Carolina.
The two PSAs released this month, feature a well-known Apex-area pediatrician and father of a child with autism. Dr. Brian Bowman, promotes the benefits of ASNC’s free educational services and materials, which have made all the difference for his own family and medical practice.
The goal of the ASNC Autism Awareness PSA campaign is to reach out to families with information that can have a major impact on the lives of children with autism and to promote greater awareness and understanding in the community at large.
The PSA can be viewed online at:
