    I don't think you need to use so many lattices with out-of-armature objects. Have you tried just using bones? it could help with potential refresh issues, because you have out-of-armature lattices controlled by out-of-armature empties that are controlled by bones, while you can probably get a very similar effect by just using bones that control those vertices directly.
    Still, good to see your approach.

    thx thelowlander, good point. I learned the lattice technique in my Maya days. I also like them because they affect a whole bunch of vertices around them, depending on the lattice spacing. While I know I can do this with weight painting, it saves a bit of painting-time. Also, when setting up future phoneme morphs, I find that this method gives me a much cleaner transition between morphs. Just parenting vertices gets a few too many ugly transitions from time to time.

    I'm on the look out for refresh issues - this is a good thing to point out! I'll mention this on my next feedback episode.
