This piece comprises of 6 elements: 'Work' performer; 'Play' performer; one shallow hexagonal container that sits on the floor; one hexagonal plinth; the audience. The performers enter the exhibition. The hexagonal container holds water in it (like a bath) – only a few inches deep. The 'Play' performer places Eyelands in the water, kneels in an orange framed gap towards the bath. 'Play' gently moves the water around and props up the Eyelands or dries them on the radiator when needed.
'Work' performer writes on A4 white paper with an orange pen on the plinth, quantifying the viewers. It does not acknowledge or look at 'Play'. 'Work' is positioned apart and facing away from the bath (as if it has moved in a series of L-shapes away from it… like the moves of a Knight in a game of Chess).
