Global Maternal Health Conference 2013

This session focused on the AUDOBEM trial which conducted audits within three West African countries. By focusing on the quality of care and the audit of district hospitals, along with qualitative and quantitative data, the study aimed to use criterion based audits and patient-centered case reviews to learn how these hospitals may better address obstetric emergencies. The panelists spoke on the setup, rationale, methodology, objectives, implementation and preliminary results from the study, as well as tips from the field on best practices and ways forward. Preliminary data was released during the session, and more data will be released at a later date.
