I wanted to document a bit of my habitat. I was living in my office for the better part of a year in 2012. When I was on the road I would stay in hotels or with friends and after I was done traveling I would return to this small box in a warehouse building on Milwaukee's north east side. I liked this part of town a lot, it was suffering from the basic structures that makes a community strong but at the same time people were not overtly stressing the situation, as if they were happy to be apart of the life they had made for themselves. I often worked in this space for days straight not really paying much attention to time. It was a hard space to work in, as the summer months would bring great heat and with little ventilation it always made for an interesting time. There was also a small heating problem so getting to sleep in the colder months was a scare to say the least. I would burry my head under a blanket and put on as many clothes as possible. I can not tell what time of year it is during shooting these short takes. I do know I was working a lot and wanted to capture what I looked like during these desperate moments to escape reality.
