For the week 27th-31st July Director of Drama Direct, Mark McGann along with practitioners , John Baxter and Ed Thomas, went to Monkwearmouth School, Sunderland, to work with a group of youngsters aged 10-15 on a play specially written by Colin Swash which told the story of a stable boy, Roger Skelton, who was murdered by his master, Lord Hylton of Hylton Castle, in the early 16th century. Lord Hylton managed to evade punishment but the ghost of Roger Skelton haunted the castle and his plaintive cry of 'I'm cauld, I'm cauld' could be heard regularly down through the centuries.
