NIKE PARALLEL JOURNEYS is an authentic commentary on the potential of India's cricketing bloodline, which is not just 15 players on the bench but a billion strong. This Making Video directed by Senthil Kumar, was officially launched in September 2012 on Tata Sky DTH and several Digital Direct to Home TV networks.

INDIA IS A JOURNEY YOU CAN"T COMPLETE IN ONE LIFETIME : The idea was born from the insight that at any point in time on any given day the journeys of the current world champions of the game run parallel to the journeys of millions of cricket crazy youth across the country. The epic execution celebrates the common thread between these parallel journeys, capturing the pursuit of greatness in the many parallel worlds of India’s cricket crazy bloodline. And when the parallel lines blur across the country, like they do on a daily basis, we realize that everyone in the bloodline is pursuing the same dream. Bleeding blue, every step of the journey, in hot pursuit of the Team India blue jersey.

THE PURSUIT OF GREATNESS : This film elevates the every day journey of India’s Cricket Crazy Youth and Athletes into epic parallels, as every individual pursues the same dream, committed to reach the training grounds and playing fields on time, bleeding blue through every moment. While the many parallel journeys pan out across vastly different landscapes, the parallel lines blur to reveal the common thread between the journeys and the common destination, that is the collective soul of every individual pursuit, the Nike Team India blue jersey. And in fact the film ends with the intensity of the journey before the moment, when the big game begins. The moment before the first ball is bowled. Capturing all the moments before your moment of greatness.
----------------------------------------------------------------
EVERYBODY IS AN ATHLETE : In fact there are no actors in this film, just authentic players of the game from various corners of the country. Capturing individual journeys of hundreds of cricket crazy Indians who exhibit intense passion, undergo relentless rituals of training every day, and bleed blue, no matter where they are playing, no matter who they are, no matter how old they are. The parallel journeys take us to real homes, buses, trains, boats, gyms, akhadas, chawls, gullies, colonies, schools, clubs and playgrounds of cricket crazy youth in Kashmir, Ladakh, Jodhpur, Delhi, Indore, Mumbai, Chennai, Pondicherry and several other locations in 02 minutes. The parallel journeys also take us to the homes, gyms, training grounds and stadiums, travelling in the players cars and team buses, capturing various moments in the parallel journeys of elite Team India athletes on a big match day.

THE MUSIC OF A BILLION VOICES: No Band Baaja. No Instruments. Just the pure sound of vocal percussion, using voices of cricket crazy Indians. This Original Nike Sound Track was created Using Nothing but Voices. Every single note and sound and rhythm and melody was created using vocal chords. Encounter the first ever vocal symphony of the collective soul of cricket, celebrating the passion of the nation with war cries, chants, grunts, beats, hearbeats, deep notes, crazy cheers, jeers, echoes and encores, all built by amplified voice tracks of cricket crazy Indians.
