A recent study was conducted by a company called ChartMasters in Atlanta, GA. They went through and studied recent home sales in the entire metro Atlanta area and determined that homes left vacant sell for 3.5% less than furnished homes and take 50-120 days longer to sell.
So if you take those statistics and put them to numbers, a vacant $500,000 home would stay on the market 50-120 days longer and would sell for $17,500 less at closing than if it were properly furnished.
This principle applies to any real estate market throughout the United States. Please call us if you have a vacant home that you are trying to sell.
