299. Inside the White House: Letters to the President
2 years ago
Every day, President Obama reads ten letters from the public in order to stay in tune with America's issues and concerns. "Letters to the President" is an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the process of how those ten letters make it to the President's desk from among the tens of thousands of letters, faxes, and e-mails that flood the White House each day.

Im reading The Audacity Of Hope and its clear to see you havent lost touch with the outside world. Even though you are surrounded by the biggest security cordon in the world, you still seem approachable, and I live in the UK! Your book really portrays it and im glad to know you have stuck to your roots.

How can he read all those letters without a bottomless box of tissues by his desk? I hope he turns out to be the best president who ever lived. The yanks need this kind of guy and the world needs a US which looks to him to be the example.

Way to go White House! I love the way this administration is trying to keep in touch with the public. I too agree that it was great to see the specs of the cameras listed here. Keep it up Prez!

Hi Randall, I have this cool thing on my mac's browser: its called the back button. I use it every time I happen to land on something that I don't want to see. It's really cool. (I use similar controls in my life when I pass a tray of donuts.) Ever since I discovered it, like, my life has been a lot happier. It's like, wow, I get to choose what I read or not. Man. Way cool. Like way cool. :)

The fools of this country put there trust into a man they think is great simply because he is said, "hope," and "change," and then simply expect good things to happen. If Obama was not liberal, he would have never been elected. His heritage just put the icing on the cake.

    Good Luck.

I like Obama, but i must admit it is a little weird to see a US-President who talks like a sane person.

I am from outside the US and started following international news during the Bush years, so you can imagine what my first impression about americans was. I mean i remenber seeing clintons face on TV when i was a kid, but i did not understand english back then, so that does not count.

Anyway, nice to see, you got out of the insane asylum, USA!

This is why we voted for Obama, he is concerned about us. Just hold on and in a few months this entire recession will be over.

Vimeo should remain party neutral. After all both parties are against the common citizen. Sadly Vimeo has latched onto the whitehouse.gov site and is promoting its videos over art.

    @Mike Bustillos & randall kincaid

I don't think you understand how Vimeo works.

    1) Someone signs up for Vimeo.
    2) They get to use Vimeo.

Anyone, including Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Communists, Socialists, Buddhists, Christians, vegetarians, carnivores, and even nature lovers like yourselves, are allowed to use this wonderful tool.

Why not create some pieces to tell the other side of the story? You guys should shoot some videos about Sarah Palin. I'd love to see what she's been up to lately.

At least I learned something about the inner workings of the White House staff. I think perhaps previous presidents have also done this, so for me this is nothing new and wasn't miraculously thought up by our present pres.

I guarantee that Obama does not get my emails or faxes. I am sure anybody disagrees with his communist agenda will not have their views heard by this so called president.

Our nation is on the brink of total destruction and this illegal unconstitutional so called president must be removed from this office he has obtained fraudulently. If he is a natural born citizen, then he needs to prove it and also release his college records which will show us he attended as a foreign student from Indonesia.

The gig is up and the truth is out.

Really wonderful video: I love that this was a presidental docuemnatry interview that didn't feel over-produced, just casual, available light, un-rehersed dialogue.

5DmkII seals the deal here, cinematic look is stunning.
