Impact of changes in the U.S. hospital system market on their vendors and alternate-site healthcare providers.
Hospital systems are buying physician practices again. Providers are attempting to form Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). Looming Medicare cuts will further reduce hospital margins. Have we seen this movie before -- physician group acquisition and PPMs, integrated health systems, risk-sharing, etc. -- or will it be different this time? If so, what might it mean for business operators, investors, and other stakeholders?
