Velvet Waters dairy farm was all but decimated two weeks ago when a massive body of water flooded Boyne Valley.

Leonie Paish who runs the farm with her husband David lost 70 head of cattle out of 660, including some of her prize show cows and their springer herd which were ready to calve.

Only just getting back on their feet after the 2010 floods, over $100,000 damage has been done to the property.

200ml of rain hit Boyne Valley on the 26th of January, leaving the farm with no power, no phone lines or reception, and no roads in or out of town.

As the roads were cut off her suppliers weren't able to have the milk delivered, and 19,000 litres had to be dumped.
