An essay photographed over a two year period. This piece follows the chaotic lives of three newly 18 year-olds as they leave their childhood homes for the first time to enter into an assisted living program. These photos document these young men as they explore adulthood and newfound independence, and what that means for someone with a mental or physical handicap.
All photos shot on film with a Leica M6, Hasselblad X-pan, and Contax 645.
