Baptism

Jesus Christ begins His public ministry by being baptized by John the Baptist. And for the centuries following, no other area of theology has been more hotly contested than the subject of baptism. Some say that one must be baptized in order to be saved. And in a practice surrounded by superstition, others insist that infants should be baptized. But God reminds us that baptism is an outward symbol of an inward reality. As a picture of Christ’s burial and resurrection, baptism is a step of discipleship for the believer who wants to publically identify with Jesus.
