This is a promotional web video for Skype to illustrate how businesses can advertise using Skype. By advertising with Skype users can request a promotional code enabling them to group video call for a set period. This feature is a premium feature but with this code thanks to the businesses advertisement they allow customers to enjoy the group calling video feature.
The video elements you see comes from another Skype web promo - which is low quality. The motion graphics and some screen recordings were done using a combination of MacOS X QuickTime, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects CS6 and Avid Media Composer 6.5.
For this process I would design using Illustrator, animate using After Effects and cut and finish using Avid. For the rendered the motion graphics I would use Avid to AMA link so i could cut them on a timeline along with the other assets. This proved to be highly useful throughout the development process because if there were changes I could updated my timeline seamlessly by simply clicking back to avid once the file names were matching and the render was complete. (note that if the durations are different you have to play around with the new re-linking feature in Avid MC 6.5)
