This is actually the first song that I had ever seriously sang on and being a first time singer then, I wanted to ask people "particularly women" their opinion on what I had accomplished here before I would consider having a mass of people hearing me sing for the first time. Well maybe it's just the region to where I live but I finally came to the conclusion that it is impossible to conduct a survey of 5 Windsor women listening to any one of my songs without having at least one of them simply say "I don't like it...I'm sorry but I just don't." Such was the case with this song when I had the mother of a girl I know who works at my local Tim Hortons listen to it. She just kept shaking her head and going "Uh Uhhhh...No.. nooo". I didn't know if I should just break the CD in front of her and over her head. By the time I had recorded "Reach Out Of the Darkness" and asked a woman who worked at WENDYS to listen to it at home and then asked her the next day what she thought of it I was pretty used to rejection so I put it up on Youtube anyway. Her response was to step toward me like she was going to deck me and replied "I didn't like it. I thought you were going to do original music." and I'm trying to talk over her to explain that I do usually perform original music but I wanted to try a different approach to this..."But I didn't like it". Okaaaay you didn't like it now why don't you go make yourself more useful and flip me a burger before I flip you the bird.
This being my first rejected vocal song, I became self conscious about it and never until now ever intended to upload it but I realize now that all the songs that I've uploaded since that time would still meet the same rejection and criticisms so because I personally like this song being that I've been listening to it though my I pod for about 6 years and being that I was shocked to discover that on Youtube, not only the guys like my music but some very extraordinarily talented women as well that I made up the quickest video that I've ever made for a song "1 hour" and now proudly display my very first singing attempt with My Baby Never Cries and dedicate it to......"Myself"...... Windsor guys are cool.
