Open Streets 2009 took place on August 1st, allowing communities to come together on Chicago's West Side. The Boulevards were shut down for an eight mile stretch, allowing bikers, runners, and walkers to more through neighborhoods freely. Along the way, the diverse cultures represented gave dance lessons, organized activities for people of all ages, and served food.
