On the second day with my GH2, I thought it would be nice to take a walk around the SW and SE waterfront and see how well the camera handled architecture and construction. This is just an attempt to get used to the image a hacked GH2 produces, so my main points of focus were Deep DOF, Sharpness, Dynamic Range, and noise issues. I was happy with the sharpness of the image - but after getting crushed on export/upload, that detail starts to get lost - I might replace this file with a higher res version. After looking through the footage, the only concern I have is the lack of DR and the noise in the mid-shadow/shadow range. I will be experimenting with various hacks to see how this changes.
Otherwise, I am completely satisfied with this little thing. Great to have in the kit.
This entire short was shot on a (manual) Yashica 28mm F/2.8 using the Fotodiox C/y - m43 adapter. I also took the opportunity to test the camera's tele-converter system, which gives an additional 2.6x on the lens - making equivalents at 56mm & 145.6mm respectively.
