On February 11th, the San Francisco Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit arrested three suspects involved in the attempted robbery of a jewelry store located near 23rd and Mission Streets. The three suspects are identified as, Arthur Gonzalez, 34, Gary Green, 20, and Socorro Santiago, 18, all of San Francisco. A loaded firearm and ski masks were found in their possession during their arrest. All three were identified in two more robberies in San Francisco.
On January 26th, the same suspects used a vehicle that was reportedly carjacked on January 15th in the area of Thomas and Maddux Streets to commit an armed robbery at a jewelry store located on the 300 block of West Portal Avenue. In this case, four suspects entered the store, two armed with firearms. They held the owners at gunpoint while the two other suspects broke glass display cases with hammers. Over $80,000 worth of jewelry was taken during this incident. The suspects fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle which was later located by SFPD officers.
Investigators were also able to develop leads from the January 26th robbery which led to the identification of Gonzalez, Green and Santiago in a February 8th gas station robbery in the area of Cesar Chavez and Hampshire. The three suspects were charged with multiple counts of robbery, attempted robbery and conspiracy associated to these three robberies. Green was also charged with firearms violations.
