Here Professor Beth Walker demonstrates using a Lux Meter to measure lighting levels in a small office.
With the lights on and blinds down, the reading is around 1100.
With the lights off and blinds down, the reading goes down to around 600.
Opening the blinds bumps the reading up to 1600.
