This is where we met Zafu-Abraha, a mother with a 14-year-old son who was sick for two months with diarrhea. She asked friends and family to pool their money so she could take him to a clinic in Addis. The doctor at the health clinic told her not to let him drink dirty water. "The health center only advises us, they cannot actually do anything about our water," she said.
Because of the funds raised during the 2008 September Campaign, a water project has been built in Afkaebi Village. The people here now have clean, safe drinking water.
