Beautiful video. If you don't mind me asking, how are you achieving such smooth panning shots? thanks

Well.... That should lead a few people to see New Zealand.
    Dramatic......

I was wondering about that too, especially when combined with smooth zooms. I would be happy with just one of those - both is just being greedy ;)

Hmm, should have watched your other videos first as there was I slight clue there. How did you find the Glide Track in the field? Which version were you using?
  •
  • Amazing. Congratulations.
  •
  • Kert Gartner plus 3 months ago
Which glidetrack are you using? The SD or HD version?
  • Chris Benny plus 3 months ago
    Hi Kert.

I am using the SD, but I recommend using the HD as I get a lot of flex due to the weight of the 5D and L lens.

Love the grade. Is that straight out of the camera or did you color correct in post?
  • Chris Benny plus 3 months ago
    Hi Benji.

I graded the footage through Photoshop.
I am still trying to learn video and plan on using Final Cut Pro's Color application next time.
  • Benji Smith 3 months ago
Thanks. I really like the look of the shot at :49.

Yes I work with FCP Color all the time and it is quite a powerful tool. Be carful not to let it suck you in for hours.

awesome, maybe 5DIII will be designed primarily for video production
  • Chris Benny plus 3 months ago
I just wish canon would bring out a dedicated FF video camera that is compatible with their EF lens series. Something that would shoot 60 or 120fps too. I would buy one! :)

Very epic scenery. The cinematography is outstanding!

Is that The Last Samurai music? I know I heard that theme somewhere.

Some images look so surreal that I almost suspected CGI ;) but since I've worked with 5D markII footage I know that's not the case and the only thing I can say is that this footage is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen, some being better than LotR. can't wait to go to New Zealand some day

Is there any way to download it, my girlfriend lives in china so she cannot have access to vimeo as the website is censored. I really want her to see this.
