15 meters of film... 3543 frames... 479 miles... The great state of Nebraska. To condense the duration of this journey, the film was exposed one frame at a time using a remote shutter release.

I am from Omaha and this movie is the best answer to the question "what is Nebraska like?" Nice.

The interesting thing is that even though this was filmed in Nebraska, you could easily pass it off as being shot in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or even portions of California with little argument from natives of those states. Flat, minimally interrupted stretches of interstate begin to look similar... especially in black and white... interstates 5, 84, 80 and 90 have similarities at certain points despite their distance from each other.

Have you ever driven through South Dakota? It's a gorgeous experience.

Not South Dakota yet... we have some family there, but never driven through... Though, of course we would love to someday.

My whole family is from Oregon, and I'm trying and failing desperately to get back there, and this video captured the reason I hate this damn state with a passion.
    Homogenous
    Your videos are definitely interesting.

Sorry you don't like where you're at. We enjoyed our trip through Nebraska... Like we said prior, this particular route isn't too different from the length I-5 travels through the willamette valley, or even hwy 99 between halsey and albany if you ignore the sheep... It just depends on your perspective.

Watch out, Omaha or Lincoln will become the next hipster destination du jour once the shine of portland has worn off for recent transplants...

    It's all cycles isn't it?

Yeah, for me it's the lack of any accessible nature (ocean, mountains, rivers etc), and the abundance of close minded people. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of great people here, and the sandhills are great (albeit 6 hours away), they just aren't what I'm looking for in the end. Cool video anyway, it captures exactly what's in NE.

wow. alot of time and effort went into making this video about my home state. i can say as a humble nebraskan that i feel honored to have such a beautiful production made about a state that gets 0 attention outside its borders.

living here gives one a sense of pride knowing how underrated it is.

great work! the intro animations, music, and editing are wonderful!!!!!!

There are probably a lot of people that feel the same way about their own states. The grass is always greener...

We made the audio specifically for this piece so it wasn't too much of a choice.
