Voice one is a homeless man who peddles or feeds from churches. He wears a Detroit hat and likes to find a way to ask for a dollar. He knows the woman sitting on the ground near us.
There is one family who is known by most Detroiters. This family owns most of Detroit and have played a game with the locals mentality as that family buys, sells, builds and demolishes their properties for the sake of "Detroit Growth". When the dollars move so do the lives that live under the accepting hand.
FULL TAKE voice one detroit is an ongoing series where filmmaker Stephen McGee creates sequences of photographs and short films between 8 and 10 at night in his hometown of Detroit. Blending 1000-3000 assets and a conversation along the way, the media popular city of Detroit is seen through the eyes of it's citizens. All footage and photographs taken for the film is used and shown under three minutes.
