I finally got my hands on a GH1 and micro 4/3 to Canon FD adapter. Unfortunately my camera has a defect, most of the clips here have a vertical line across the entire frame, so the camera is going in for repair.

Despite the vertical line issue, I am really in love with this camera. The image is so sharp and clear and with fast lenses the depth of field is very shallow. This was shot mostly with Canon FD 50 mm f/1.4.

The scenes at the shop where shot hand held. Its pretty wobbly and I got a lot of "wobbly cam." I think with some kind of cheap shoulder support is would be ok.

The scenes shot at the landing zone were on a tripod.

All footage was shot in AVCHD mode.
Slow motion stuff shot at 720 60p, everything else 1080 24p.

All of the focus pulling was done with a D|Focus mounted on a special mount that does not require the standard rails. This makes it overall a much smaller and lighter rig.

nice footage, other than sharp images and beautiful colors he camera seems to capture motion quite well.
i was wondering if you plan to take it airborne with the glider?
that's a pretty bulky camera compared to the camcorders you use, and perhaps quite on the expensive side to put on a wing or keel.
still though, don't get me wrong! I would love to see what it can do from the air! especially wing overs at 60p played in slow motion

If I could find a nice wide angle lens, that was light weight, it would work fine. The body is very light.

im guessing the Lumix G VARIO 7-14mm is what you have in mind. 10oz would do it no?

    Yeah, that would probably work.

where did you get the adaptor and is it ok?

Got it on ebay. Just search "Canon FD to GH1" or something like that. I got the one made by a guy in Poland. Its very nice quality. Machined from solid aluminum and anodized black.

    Dave?

Would your DFocus work as a zoom controller on the stock lens?

    Just wondering.

Too bad about the cam though. I think I read you got it from Vistek up here in the GWN, right?

I'm sure it would, but I did not try this. Will have to play with it when I get the camera back.
