Set at the early autumn Equinox of 1923- famed mountaineer George Mallory- the first person to attempt to scale Mount Everest and who famously coined the phrase "Because it's there"- recalls his fated last attempt as he and his team are caught in a deadly avalanche at 25000 feet. (He died on his next (third) attempt the following year in 1924-his body wasn't found until 1999, fully preserved and it's still unclear whether he made the summit or not). Mallory shares the experience with his friend (acclaimed Bloomsbury Artist, Duncan Grant) at Grant's summer home, Charleston, in Sussex, England.
