I am constructing a Camera Jib.
It took a LOT of thinking before I made anything, I have over 5 pages of notes and diagrams for different parts of it:- and it's not finished either. This vid shows the basic construction, with no cradle, no pan/tilt and no front handle mount system, all of which are in the pipeline... (Some I've already started...!)
Essential Criteria for the Jib:-
Easy to build from readily available materials.
Easy to assemble.
Solid, heavy-duty tripod or quadpod.
Parallel leveling (Camera stays level).
Pan control (manual).
Tilt control (manual).
Criteria if possible:-
Tripod fits on dolly.
Changeable overslung / underslung mount.
Front handle mount system to control jib from camera end.
46mm x 21mm planed timber (x7).
21mm MDF sheet.
Wood screws (x50 ish).
Nuts/Bolts/Washers (a dozen ish).
2.5mm steel cable (2m).
Cable clamps (x4).
Steel corner brackets (x6).
Dumbbell & weights (3.5kg short / 14kg long).
Loading more stuff…
Hmm…it looks like things are taking a while to load. Try again?
