Timelapse clips from my holidays in Morocco in June 2009. Locations are: Imlil, High Atlas, Marrakech, Mhamid, Ait Benhaddou, Erg Chegaga (Sahara Dunes), Tizi-n-Tichka, Lac Iriqui.
You can see a sandstorm approaching in the Sahara shots, which hit us a little later. I had to remove tons of sensor dust spots from the clips...
The mountains scenes were shot in Imlil in the High Desert. Obviously, we hit the rain/storm season (which is great for timelapse), but we were stuck for one day in a nice hostel there due to rain.
Thanks to Martin for the patience while shooting!

    Great timelapses as always Michael.

Do you use any deflickr tools? Your sequences are really "clean"
  • Michael Rissi plus 4 months ago
Thanks Per! I used Granite Bay's Deflicker tool for the clips where deflickering was necessary. Most did not need any treatment!

Can you use this with .mov files?

I`m having trouble finding a good deflickr tool for .mov files.
  • Michael Rissi plus 4 months ago
Yes sure, it works with all kinds of video files that After Effects can read!

Absolutely beautiful. Even though I don't understand the music, I love the instrument playing with the clouds passing over the very tall mountains.

Fantastic - very compelling, Michael. The variety of scenes and lighting really surprised me - I did not know Morocco had this kind of terrain and weather. Music from Alpha Blondie works well with this... You got some great star shots as well - was that in the mountains?
  • Michael Rissi plus 4 months ago
Thanks Edvard! Probably the weather is the most interesting (i.e. bad) in June. The star shots were also done in Imlil in the High Atlas.

Well done, sir. Loved the HDR with the village in the foreground.
  • Michael Rissi plus 4 months ago
Thanks Steve, but it's not HDR! Just fiddling with the tonecurves.

This is one of best ones.... Thank you for sharing and allowing to download....
Did you use tonecurves in Photoshop or in Color....?
  • Michael Rissi plus 4 months ago
Thanks Valdas! I did some tonecurve adjustments in Camera Raw and then again in After Effects!

    magic MAGIC MAAAAGIC ...:)
  •
  • Michael, I loved the images! Really!

The song? No offense, but it doesn't fit at all, for several reasons:
    It's mostly in Hebrew
It's about Jerusalem, expressing the love for that city.
Also it's in the reggae style (most caribbean) ??

And BTW, correct name of the group is Alpha Blondy

So what's all this got to do with Morocco?
  • Michael Rissi plus 10 days ago
    Hey Leo, thanks!
That song was very popular in Morocco when I was there, they played it in every taxi (as well as there were Indian Bollywood TV soap operas on many screens).
  • Didn't want to sound negative, but it just made no sense when I heard it.
    Nice film though...

Never mind :-) Many people were not too happy with my choice of music here...
