Cycle Recycle: Economic Development in Sierra Leone
2 years ago
Pedals for Progress, the world's largest bicycle recycling organization, gives a new life to a thousand plus bikes by delivering them to its overseas partner, The Center for Research, Training, and Program Development, or CRTPD in Kenema, Sierra Leone. The influx of cheap, reliable transportation helps to stimulate economic activity in one of the most impoverished areas of the world.
Pedals for Progress has shipped over 121,000 bicycles since 1991 to over 30 of the world's poorest countries.
